MASTERS NATIONAL TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP 2026
12TH – 14TH JUNE 2026
Welcome to the homepage for the Masters National Track Championships 2026! Full Gas Cycling are proud to once again be back hosting and promoting the championship. The event will remain at the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome of Wales in Newport.
2026 Updates –
For 2026 we are excited to announce that the Elimination Race will be added to the schedule as a championship event. Our hope is that now there is a national title up for grabs, we will be able to run the majority without combining two or more age categories. With this addition, bringing the number of championship events up to 6, this will mean some changes to the schedule.
The other big addition for 2026 is that we are reducing the championship from 4 days to 3. We hope that by providing three full sessions, the atmosphere will be enhanced with greater amounts of people in the velodrome to watch the racing and podium ceremonies. We also hope that, by running slightly longer sessions, riders and event staff will have to take less time from their personal schedule, hopefully attracting increased numbers.
Please find below the proposed event schedule.
RACE ENTRIES
British National Championships will be open to British Cycling Members who are citizens of the United Kingdom and dependent Territories, the Isle of Man, or the Channel Islands. Riders must hold a valid UCI-recognised license showing the rider nationality as “GBR” which has been issued at least 28 days prior to the Event. If resident in another country the rider must hold a United Kingdom passport and must not, in the same year, have competed in the national championship of any other UCI affiliated national federation.

PREMIUM PENS
The track centre layout will remain the same from 2025.
There will be a general open plan pen layout where as before you can lock and leave your kit overnight, as always at your own risk. Any riders using the general pens accept that, although you can lock your equipment in that pen, if you are not occupying that pen, other riders are welcome to set up in that pen for their event.
Premium pens are only to be occupied by those riders who have purchased them and will come with the option of power *Please note there are a limited number of Premium Pens that will have access to a power source* The cost of a Premium Pen is £7.50 per rider per day or £10 per rider per day if power is required.
For the sake of clarity, there will still be plenty of free to use pens as before.
SPORTS MASSAGE
Lorna of LT Sports Massage will be attending he event. To book your pre or post race sports massage, please email lornae1@outlook.com. Lorna will also be taking bookings on the day (subject to availability)
TRACK CENTRE CATERING

Bamboo coffee will be supporting the Championships for 2025, offering a quality range of barista grade coffees, teas, soft drinks, as well as smoothies.
GENERAL EVENT INFORMATION
MEDAL CEREMONIES
To keep the racing moving and limit track time, we will be presenting morning session medals during the lunch break and afternoon session medals in the evening once racing has finished.
CHILL OUT & CATCH UP
Once again, we are trying to create more of a social atmosphere after racing, where everyone can catch up and chat outside of the pressure of racing. The far end of the track will have a rider lounge area where riders can chill out and catch up with friends while watching the racing in comfort. This area will double as the presentation and dining area.
